Protect Your Shoes Off the Approach
Remember to wear shoe protectors when you are off the approach and walking around the bowling center. Moisture, food, beverages, chewing gum, rocks, dirt, and other foreign materials can ruin slide soles. Protect your bowling investment with a good pair of shoe protectors.
Breaking In Slide Soles
Bowling shoe slide soles (especially felt soles) require a breaking-in period in order to loosen and temper the sole fibers. Sliding on the approach will become more consistent with continued use.

Products like bowling shoe sliders will give you additional length and ease to sliding. If your new bowling shoes have interchangeable soles and heels, your amount of slide can be adjusted for a totally custom amount of slide and braking.
Cleaning and Storage
Remove dirt and filth with a shoe brush. Store shoes in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place to ensure shoes dry completely.
